Hello - My name is Dawn and I am a busy mum of 4 and wife, I am self taught and have worked hard on building my business over the last 11 years, I have added more machines and equipment to open up more options for my customers.

Everything I make is handcrafted and finished by me - I use a variety of machines such as CNC routers, manual engraver, laser engraver and cutting machines with some hand engraving too.

my newest addition is Pewter casting equipment and i received fantastic support and training from davie and jacqui at ‘pewtermill’ in setting this up.

My work is very much inspired by Shetland as it is home to our family.

The Shetland Dialect and words are so distinct and I never tire of hearing it. It’s one you can recognise instantly even if you happen to be on the other side of the world and often brings about conversations. shetlanders are very proud of their dialect.

I also like to add Fair Isle patterns in different methods to a variety of items and media.

Having being involved with making items for Jarl Squads throughout the isles over the years I like to draw on Viking theme designs when making gift ranges.

One design in particular I am proud of is my Fair Isle engraved slate, which hadn’t been done by anyone previously.
